The first fully commissioned turbine at offshore wind farm Rampion has started generating electricity.
The installation of the turbines began in March 2017 and was completed ahead of schedule in September. The 400MW Rampion project is located 13 kilometres off the Sussex coast. An additional 115 additional turbines will be connected to the grid in stages over the next few months.
Owners are Eon, the UK Green Investment Bank and the Canadian energy company Enbridge. The project is being built and operated by Eon as majority owner.
