Targets for capacity to be procured in the upcoming Capacity Market auctions have fallen slightly.
Capacity to be procured for next winter (in the T-1 auction) has been cut by 1.1GW to 4.9GW. Capacity in the T-4 auction has been reduced by 600MW to 49.5GW. The Delivery Body said the T-4 target may be reduced further. The “additional limited reduction” is “contingent on the results of the Tier 2 appeals process”.
The T-1 auction begins on 30 January and the T-4 auction begins on 6 February.
