National Grid has opened a consultation on its Future Energy Scenarios for 2019.
Each year the grid operator produces scenarios intended to explore different pathways that the energy system may take. They try to capture a range of outcomes from macro economic factors, energy policy, the decarbonisation agenda and other issues (like a dramatic increase in electric vehicles).
The scenarios are produced after consultation with industry and stakeholders, along with workshops.
National Grid has invited responses to the consultation by 28 September, and workshops are planned on 18 and 25 October.
