Vattenfall has submitted an application to National Infratsructure Planning for its 1.8GW Norfolk Boreas offshore wind farm.

The project will be sited around 94km offshore of Great Yarmouth. The application includes associated infrastructure required to export the electricity to the National Grid substation at Necton in Norfolk.

The inspectorate has 28 days to decide whether to accept the application for examination.
