Transmission Capital Partners (a consortium of Transmission Capital Partners Limited Partnership and infrastructure investors International Public Partnerships Limited) has been named preferred bidder to own and operate the connection to the Beatrice offshore wind farm, under an Offshore Transmission Owner (Ofto) licence. \
The 588MW wind farm 13km off the Caithness coast, Beatrice became fully operational in June 2019. The final turbine was installed on 14 May 2019. It is owned and operated by a joint venture of SSE Renewables, fund management company Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners and Red Rock Power, the Scotland-based subsidiary of Chinese power company SDIC Power.
Transmission Capital Partners is itself a consortium of fund managers Amber Infrastructure Group and asset manager Transmission Investment. The consortium already has ownership interests in seven Oftos: Barrow, Dudgeon, Gunfleet Sands, Lincs, Ormonde, Robin Rigg and Westermost Rough. It is preferred bidder for the Rampion connection.
