Cornwall council has decided to put Wave Hub, a grid-connected offshore device used to test and develop wave energy devices, up for sale, Cornish Stuff website reports.
The Hub has been in place since 2010 with four test slots available. Although some have been used the wave industry has been slow to develop. From several options for its future the council’s preferred option is to sell all the offshore and onshore assets and site during 2020-21. It is thought the site might be usied by the fast-growing offshore wind industry.
