Industry data body Electralink has launched a consultation on a new enabling service for energy flexibility service providers. To be known as Flexr, it aims to deliver improved distribution system operator (DSO) data sharing.
The company says flexibility services in the UK are already well-established with many platforms offering flexibility trading, aggregation, optimisation and balancing functions. But the maturing market for energy flexibility services requires additional technological infrastructure to support its growth and response capabilities.
Electralink says the new Flexr product is a data uncovering and sharing service that will provide inforamtion about distribution network resources, energy response options and participants. It will support market development and level the playing field for new participants, who will be able to register for access.
The company is consultating on the new product and seeking responses by 29 May.
