The Energy Networks Association is looking for power network stakeholders to join a User Forum to support the next steps and further development networks’ flexibility markets.
ENA is inviting interested parties from a wide range of areas to express their interest in joining the forum, which will consider development of the flexibility methodology and tools, including flexibility providers, generators, academics, code managers, community and local energy and the supply chain.
The plan follows the production in 2020 of a Common Evaluation Methodology (CEM) and tool that allows DNOs to evaluate flexibility services and traditional intervention options for network needs. During its development the product team had feedback that it did not go far enough in two areas. The first was optionality and the second was carbon impact assessment.
This year the User Forum will to review existing approaches to option value and carbon assessment with a view to assessing options and incorporating them into the CEM and tool by December 2021. In addition, it will make proposals to amend the scope for 2021 as needed.
Prospective members should apply by 11 June.
