ACT NOW; National Grid wants feedback this week on carbon dioxide pipeline proposals for the Humber

National Grid is seeking responses this week to a consultation on proposals for a new onshore network of pipelines to transport captured carbon dioxide emissions from companies in the Humber region – the UK’s largest industrial cluster.
The pipelines will link the emitter with the Holderness coast where they will allow the carbon dioxide to be taken offshore for storage. The Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project would include a new pipeline crossing under the River Humber.
The company has developed broad route corridor options within which the underground pipelines and associated infrastructure could be located
National Grid plans more consultation in the spring and plans to apply for development consent in late 2022. Construction would begin in 2024.
The company seeks feedback on its current proposals by 22 October. More details here
