Friday 7 January will see Hunterston B nuclear power station reach its final closure. The plant has produced 297.4TWh over a 46-year lifetime, although it was originally expected to run for just 25 years to 2001.
Hunterston provided around 500 skilled jobs to full time staff at its Ayrshire site.
The Scottish Government is opposed to new nuclear projects and the plant will not be replaced with a new nuclear unit.
