Alpha Real Capital has highlighted its growing investment in renewables with £250 million in new investment in 2021, plans for a new fund in 2022 and new hires.
The manager of ‘secure income’ assets said nine transactions last year brought its renewables portfolio to 165 assets diversified across wind, solar and hydro generation platform and £800 million of assets under management.
In 2022 Alpha’s renewables platform is planning to launch an open-ended Diversified Renewables Income Fund to invest in UK onshore wind and solar opportunities, together with emerging sectors such as energy storage.
The renewables team has been augmented with Ed Goldsworthy, who held senior positions at Gresham House and FIM Services, and Elliot Tegerdine who will lead Alpha’s project delivery and operations.
Will Morgan, Head of Renewables at Alpha Real Capital said: “This is an exciting development as we look to meet growing investor demand for this sector by further expanding our capabilities.”
