SMS launches ‘white label’ app to help small businesses manage energy use and flexibility

A new app from SMS aims to help small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) take control of their energy consumption.
SMS says that as a licensable, white label software solution, its Smart Energy Data app is targeted at UK energy suppliers and other consumer-facing organisations outside the traditional utilities sector – such as high street banks and retailers – who can white-label the app to boost engagement with their SME customers. SSE Energy Solutions, which supplies energy to over 400,000 business customers across GB, has become the first supplier to use the app under the white label ‘SSE Insights’.
SMS claims the Smart Energy Data platform “goes beyond a typical energy usage app”, with real-time data on energy consumption via smart meters, integration with NGESO’s Demand Flexibility Service (DFS) powered by SMS’s FlexiGrid and n3rgy technologies.
Tom Woolley, Smart Product & Strategy Director at SMS, said, “Smart Energy Data empowers business energy users to not just track their energy usage and improve efficiencies, but actively participate in grid management and reap the financial benefits of demand flexibility. It’s a win-win for businesses, the grid, and the environment.”
