Stagecoach has deployed Schneider Electric’s Smart EV charging infrastructure across multiple UK sites to charge the transport operator’s fleet of electric buses.
Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure for eMobility solution consists of its EVlink Pro DC ultra-rapid EV charging points, LV feeder pillars to control the electricity supply, and medium/low voltage package substations, which provide electricity from the grid in a single-source outdoor assembly tailored to Stagecoach’s specific needs.
Schneider Electric said the modular approach will mean Stagecoach can adapt as it moves towards the electrification of its nationwide fleet. David Hall, Schneider Electric’s Vice President, Power Systems, UK&I, said “Picking up the pace of the electrification of public transport is critical as we head towards our net-zero targets. For many, it can be challenging to match operational needs with sustainability goals,”
He added “We are working with Stagecoach to ensure it has the infrastructure, insights, and support it needs to ensure reliable, greener journeys for its passengers.”
