Temporis Capital, Clarke Energy and Trina Storage have entered into construction contracts to deliver a 50MW/100MWh battery at Boat of Garten in the Scottish Highlands, with Clarke Energy providing the ‘engineer, procure and construct’ wrap and Trina Storage supplying the battery system, including its Elementa solution for the project.
The Boat of Garten battery is scheduled for operations in Q1 2026 and will sell grid balancing and stability services.
Clarke Energy is providing a 16-year full O&M agreement providing 24/7 performance monitoring, preventative and corrective maintenance, with TrinaStorage, who are also providing performance guarantees for the Elementa units through the life of the project.
The project was developed by Gigabox Developments.
Tom Harada, Investment Director, Temporis Capital , said: “This project is Temporis’ first BESS project and is one of three being developed within its funds. We believe BESS projects will play a prominent role in alleviating the pressure on the grid, as generation from renewable sources increases.”
