Root-Power has received planning permission for a new 40MW/80MWh battery in Selby, North Yorkshire. The project will connect to the electricity network at Osgodby grid supply point and the company promised to upgrade local road infrastructure as part of its development plan.
Root-Power, which launched in July with the backing of the YLEM Group, now claims more than 2GW of projects in its pipeline across the UK. It has one project already in construction, and four fully consented with construction expected to start in 2025.
