Root-Power wins second battery consent

Root-Power has received planning permission for a new battery in Bishop Auckland, County Durham.
The 50MW/200MWh battery discharges over four hours. The 0.61Ha site was selected because of its close proximity to Toronto Grid Supply Point (GSP).
Earlier this month Root-Power received planning permission for a new 40MW/80MWh battery in Selby, North Yorkshire. The project will connect to the electricity network at Osgodby grid supply point
