Octopus Energy to trial ‘zero bills’ retrofit for homes built since 2015

Octopus Energy is to trial a ’zero bills’ retrofit offer for existing homes built since 2015. The company will offer to install a heat pump, battery and solar panels to bring them up to its ‘Zero Bills’ standard, where customers are guaranteed to receive no energy bills for at least 5 years.
The trials, in new homes in Suffolk, are in partnership with Suffolk County Council, which offers a so-called ‘warm homes loan’ of up to £15000 that covers the upfront costs of installing PV and a battery.
Octopus is reaching out to local Suffolk customers with homes built since 2015, offering them a chance to join the revolutionary trial and take advantage of the council’s funding.
The energy supplier estimates 500,000 UK properties built since 2013 could potentially be upgraded.
