The next Contract for Difference auction for new renewable energy projects will be after the General Election, the EMR Delivery Body has confirmed. Scenarios in which a window for submitting sealed bids could open before 8 June have fallen away, because one or more applicants that failed to qualify for the allocation round has requested a review.

Applicants will receive notice of whether they have qualified on review on 6 June and will then have the opportunity to appeal to Ofgem over the decision. If there are no appeals the sealed bid window will open between 16 and 22 June. In the event of an appeal the window will be delayed to 23-29 June.

Allocations will be notified on 13 or 20 July.
