The government has announced that it plans to close the Feed-in Tariff (FIT) scheme to new applications on 31 March next year.  The Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy said the uptake of the scheme had exceeded expectations, with over 800,000 installations totalling around 6GW currently confirmed on the FIT register.
