Developers have been warned that from 6 April they will incur more costs when they apply to distribution network operators (DNOs) for estimates of the price for connecting new assets to the distribution system.
In the past, DNOs could only recover the cost of providing a connection offer to applicants if the offer was accepted. However, under the Energy Act 2008, DNOs were allowed to recover the costs of all applications. That has now been exercised.
