What is holding up the rollout of corporate power purchase agreements (PPAs) for renewable energy projects in the UK?
These agreements are growing in popularity worldwide – Bloomberg New Energy noted that 5.4GW was bought in 2017 compared with 4.4GW in 2015, and a Climate Group report in January 2018 said that direct procurement from offsite grid-connected generators grew from 3% to 13% of members’ total renewable power consumption between 2015 and 2016.
