Janet Wood finds the smart meter rollout is still grappling with uncertainties
The date – 5 December – when energy suppliers have to stop installing early-version (Smets 1) smart meters for domestic customers and install Smets 2 meters instead, has become largely a “dead letter”. A dozen of the largest suppliers, covering a majority of customers, have been granted a derogation until March.
