It’s great to see that distribution networks have promised to open the market for flexibility services. The announcement by the Energy Networks Association this month that all six DNOs have “committed” to test the market and compare flexibility options with building new assets will help raise the profile of flexibility options and there can’t be too much helpful publicity for this approach. After all, it has to give customers the confidence that this is not a “second best” option and that they can benefit by participating.
