Central European energy group EPH has added Lynemouth to its UK portfolio, buying the power station – due to be converted to burn biomass – from RWE. EPH already owns the 2GW Eggborough power station.
Lynemouth is a 420MW coal-fired station. It received state aid clearance on 1 December for a Contract for Difference from the UK government that will support conversion to biomass fuel.
