The term “security of supply” and suggestion that the lights could go out was “old thinking”, the Scottish Government’s Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee heard in an inquiry into the matter. In its report (Plugged-in Switched-on Charged-up: Ensuring Scotland’s Energy Security, 8th Report, 2015) the committee concluded that the question of “how much” supply had been augmented by “what sort?” and “where from?”
