The term “security of supply” and suggestion that the lights could go out was “old thinking”, the Scottish ­Government’s Economy, Energy and Tourism Committee heard in an inquiry into the matter. In its report (Plugged-in Switched-on Charged-up: Ensuring Scotland’s Energy Security, 8th Report, 2015) the committee concluded that the question of “how much” supply had been augmented by “what sort?” and “where from?”
