The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) scheme has been “uncertain” value for money, the National Audit Office has concluded.
Uptake of the scheme has been much lower than planned. By December 2017 it had delivered just 78,048 new installations in GB. It is likely to reach 111,000 new installations by the time it closes in March 2021, just 22% of original expectations, the NAO concluded in a report.
