New Power was celebrating on 21 April, and not just because it was the editor’s birthday. That happy event comes round every year (mark your diaries now); unlike the opportunity to celebrate a day without coal-fired plant operating. That is rare. The last time that happened was over a century ago. But we can expect that coal-free days will come around much faster than birthdays from now on, as coal plant comes off the system for good.
