Martin Alder, an important figure in the UK renewable energy industry, died suddenly, at home, on 10 October 2016. He had recovered well from an operation for cancer of the pancreas until a setback during the summer.
A developer of small-scale renewable energy, he was the long-serving chairman of the Renewable Energy Committee of the Association of Electricity Producers (AEP) and vice-chairman of the board of directors of AEP. He became a board member of Energy UK when the trade association merger took place in 2012.
