Matthew Roderick says it is time to break into the ‘walled garden’ of energy consumption data
Every sector has discovered that data is the life blood of growth, and the energy industry is no different. The smart meter revolution opens the door to that data; the holy grail for energy companies and consumers alike as the fuel that drives the innovation which will ultimately deliver decarbonisation and lower energy bills. But today, it is only energy suppliers that have access to the data from in-home meters – and they don’t like sharing.
