The costs of the smart meter rollout have risen by £54 million to £10.98 billion, while the benefits have fallen by £415 million to £16.7 billion, according to a new cost-benefit analysis from the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS). The comparison is with the previous cost-benefit analysis, published in 2014.
