Wartsila is to acquire storage company Greensmith Energy Management Systems. Wartsila says the acquisition will “expand its footprint in the energy-storage market and position itself as a leading global energy systems integrator”.

Greensmith’s energy management software system, GEMS, enables utilities, EPC companies and independent power producers to manage and monitor individual systems or fleets of systems. The company also offers a commercial, industrial and micro-grid solution called Omni4.
