The Planning Inspectorate, Wales, has had 15 “expressions of interest” for energy projects under its Nationally Significant Infrastructure regime since it went into operation in March 2016, director Tony Thickett has reported. Most were wind projects, and there had been just one non-energy project. However, only three projects had reached the application stage and none were wind, he told the Infrastructure Planning in Wales conference.
