Margins over the coming winter eased slightly again at the start of October when the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority announced that it would continue to operate its Wylfa nuclear station until December 2015. The plant has a generating capacity of 980MW.
Wylfa was due to close but received permission from the Office of Nuclear Regulation to remain in operation.
