Port operator ABP has announced it is starting a High Court challenge over the government’s development consent for Europe’s largest offshore energy park, which involves an area of land the company owns on the Humber estuary.
It is seeking a judicial review of the go-ahead given by energy secretary Ed Davey for the Able Marine Energy Park, a 400Ha site at North Killingholme where almost 1.3km of deep water quays are planned for the manufacture, assembly, storage and shipping of wind turbines for the next generation of offshore wind farms in the North Sea.
