The need for Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) is becoming more urgent and it should take a higher priority in energy and climate policy, according to a report from Ricardo AEA that assessed progress taht had been made following the EU’s CCS Directive.
Progress on CCS has slowed because of the economic downturn and the low price of carbon, the report said. It added that the price of carbon had been further suppressed because of the support provided for renewable generation.
