The Republic of Ireland’s energy minister Alex White has published an Energy White Paper which insists that by the end of the century, Ireland will have to generate all its energy from “clean sources”.
The document, though, is more aspirational than strategic. The White Paper proposes the transition from fossil fuels to greener alternatives, but without a road map explaining exactly how this will be achieved.
