A programme to replace the charging and settlement process in the UK gas system has been split in two to try to keep the main project on track.
The long-running replacement programme – dubbed Project Nexus – has already been delayed. Last May, Ofgem accepted that it would not be in place by 1 October 2015 and later the implementation date was set back a year to 1 October 2016.
Now National Grid has raised an ‘urgent modification’, unanimously supported by the Project Nexus steering group, that would delay a significant part of the project by a year.
