Once again the words “thousands of jobs could be lost in the PV industry” land in my inbox from solar pressure groups – this time in relation to a hike in VAT levels. That battle has apparently been won, perhaps thanks to the timing of a budget announcement made when the government wants to reassert its independence within the European Union. Whatever the reason the change is great news, not just for the relief to PV, but far more important, because it extends to insulation and other energy efficiency products.
