The government’s energy legislation completed its passage through both chambers after a bout of parliamentary ping-pong and obtained Royal Assent on 12 May. The only issue between the Commons and the Lords was an amendment about the grace period for onshore wind schemes caught by the early axing of the Renewables Obligation (RO). In the event, that division was won by the government.
