National Grid’s operating profit was £4,096 million in 2015/16, up £233 million (6%) compared with the previous year at actual exchange rates, according to the firm’s annual results. The company said its interconnector with France had helped boost its earnings for the year. On a constant currency basis, operating profit was up by a more modest 4% (£160 million), the company said.
