National Grid is going back to first principles to simplify and streamline the demand-side response (DSR) and other services it procures through the Power Responsive initiative. Paul Lowbridge, Power Responsive programme manager, said the attempt to simplify the products and make them easier to use was “a big deal” for National Grid and that he could see 16 of the System Operator’s (SO’s) reserve and response products reduced to just three ‘baskets’.
