National Grid has “paused” work on the North West Coast Connection (NWCC), an ambitious new section of transmission grid that would bring power from a planned new nuclear plant at Moorside in Cumbria.
Reactor developer NuGen is conducting a strategic review to look at its ownership and technology vendor after Engie withdrew from the project and reactor vendor Westinghouse filed for bankuptcy protection.
