Transmission company EirGrid has said it is delighted about a court ruling that has upheld planning approval for the southern section of Ireland’s north-south interconnector. A decision on the northern section of the project is anticipated later this year. Further legal challenges to the €280 million scheme that links Ireland’s two transmission systems between Meath and Tyrone are expected.
