The High Court has dismissed claims from distribution-connected generators that want to continue benefitting from Triad payments.
Two issues have arisen in the judgement.
First, the power industry sometimes claims that the electricity flows in one part of the system hardly affect the others. Ofgem says that is not true and the judge, too, was unconvinced by arguments that local generation had no effect on the transmission system.
