In July, Gemserv opened a discussion on the future for governance. We agree with Ofgem that the opportunity for consumers is innovation and that data will be a key enabler. The supplier hub model needs fundamental reform and retail code arrangements must be improved more quickly.

Now we propose a Target Operating Model (TOM): intelligent interfaces with a single portal and a governance structure that offers digital consumer protection and flexibility – and empowers customers to use their data.
