Plans for a new nuclear power plant at Wylfa in Anglesey, Wales, have taken a step forward – the new transmission line for the project has been accepted for examination by National Infrastructure Planning. The planning body has begun registering “interested parties” for its examination of the so-called North Wales Connection.
The new 400kV electricity line is required – with other reinforcements in North Wales – to connect both the new nuclear plant and offshore wind in the Irish Sea.
